Some tips from my few hours in Diablo.

By the time you get to act 1/act 2 you get rained in gear. Try not to be to precious about stuff, most is worthless.

Don't buy ANYTHING from vendors, its expensive and crap.

The stats you want on gear are +XP, your primary stat and any dmg buff.

+magic find seems worthless primarily due to the AH.

Check the AH.....there is TONS of gear on there. I bought a rare 1h with +10xp and a rare shield with +12xp for 4k.

Things worth selling on AH.

Necks...worth a lot $$ (say 5k +)
Rings...worth a lot $ (2.5k+)
Boots with +movement speed....worth A LOT $$$ (10K+ maybe 20k or more)
Any other +xp gear (talking +8 or better) $ (2k and up)

Damn, DE'd 2 or 3 pairs of +Movement speed boots :/

Prices are changing quite rapidly as people level.

Further AH thoughts.

Other than items that you can sell on AH you should basically vendor all blues/rares for gold.

This assumes your aim is to acquire the best gear, which is much more likely to come from the AH than it is to come from the BS.

The BS is basically a gold sink which should probably be avoided at lower levels.
