So the RMAH is out for Europe, anyone likely to spend any cash on there, or conversely sell.

I think there's quite the opportunity to make money on the RMAH currently since you can't actually buy gold for $$$. People actually willing to spend cash will probably end up paying over the odds for what you could buy of the Gold AH since they'll see it as their only option.

I might have a play around with it this weekend and see if i can actually make any money.

I will definitely try to sell things there to build a startup balance for future purchases.
Now is the perfect time to sell and the worst to buy.

Added authenticator and all that shizzle and did a quick brushup of the RMAH with regard to selling items (correct me if I am wrong):

  • You don't need to deposit any money to start selling on the auction house.
  • When you set something for sale you can choose to get the money transfered to your Battle.net balance or PayPal.
  • Minimum price is 1.25 £/€.
  • Maximum price is 250 £/€.
  • Blizzard places a transaction fee on all successfull sales, the fees depend on type of item sold:
    • To Battle.net balance - gear: 1 £/€.
    • To Battle.bet balance - crafting materials, dye, similar non-unique items: 15% of the sell price.
  • If you want to transfer your money to PayPal an additional transfer fee of 15% of the amount transfered will be deducted.
  • Works like the gold auction house in every other aspect + gold can be sold.

From what I can tell it is free to transfer money from PayPal to your bank account, hence the total transaction fee for any sales from Diablo III -> PayPal -> Your bank account STRAIGHT INTO YOUR POCKET, DAWG! is [Sale price] - [Transaction fee (1 £/€ or 15%)] - [Transfer fee (15% of remaining)].

Added authenticator and all that shizzle
- that means that you didn't have an Authenticator until now? LOL what a nab!!! (j/king)
and did a quick brushup of the RMAH with regard to selling items
(correct me if I am wrong):
- OK

  • You don't need to deposit any money to start selling on the auction house.
    - correct
  • When you set something for sale you can choose to get the money transfered to your Battle.net balance or PayPal.
    - correct. You don't need to have a linked PayPal to start selling (afaik), it will only let you choose the Battle.net Balance to collect your money.
  • Minimum price is 1.25 £/€.
    - correct, it is 1.25€, have no idea for £.
  • Maximum price is 250 £/€.
    - correct, it is 250€, have no idea for £. Keep in mind that the Battle.net Balance can only hold 250€. If you try to sell something that will lead your Battle.net Balance over that cap the game will not let you do it and it will prompt you to link a PayPal account and choose that to receive your money.
  • Blizzard places a transaction fee on all successfull sales, the fees depend on type of item and where you want the money transfered:
    - correct, fees apply only for successfull sales.
    • To PayPal - any item: 15% of the sell price.
      - no, PayPal fees are additional to the initial transaction fee (see below). The PayPal fee apply after the transaction fee (it's called transfer fee and it it in fact 15% of the amount being transferred).
    • To Battle.net balance - gear: 1 £/€.
      - correct, it is 1€ but it doesn't mater if it is for Battle.net Balance or not and it's called transaction fee, have no idea for £.
    • To Battle.bet balance - crafting materials, dye, similar non-unique items: 15% of the sell price.
      - correct, but it doesn't mater if it is for Battle.net Balance or not and it's called transaction fee.
  • Works like the gold auction house in every other aspect
    - correct, but you can also buy and sell gold.

From what I can tell it is free to transfer money from PayPal to your bank account,
- have no idea about that but I guess it's per country basis.
hence the total transaction fee for any sales from Diablo III -> PayPal -> Your bank account STRAIGHT INTO YOUR POCKET, DAWG! is Blizzards 15% cut.
- sort of, read above.

Most of my answers/things I had to say was not a Yes/No situation. I had to elaborate. Thats why I choose to answer/confirm/correct all your points instead 82% of them (2 of your 11 points was in fact correct and I didn't have anything more to say for them).

So yea.. blow me! :P
