I'd be surprised if they actually mean mythic is going to be harder than heroic. I'm anticipating it'll just be the new heroic raids.

There will be 4 difficulties: LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic.
LFR: 10 to 25 man flexible raid size with today's LFR difficulty
Normal: 10 to 25 man flexible raid size with today's Flex difficulty
Heroic: 10 to 25 man flexible raid size with today's Normal difficulty
Mythic: 20 man fixed raid size with today's Heroic difficulty

Assuming Mythic difficulty is NOT the new heroic, but actually something beyond - I don't think I mind too much. Chances are we wouldn't be looking to run it and then it just means we can do heroics with whatever size of roster.

Seeing as I doubt that's the case, I agree with Killén though - 20 people is a fucking piece of shit number. I'm sure they picked it so 10 man guilds are "only" forced to merge as opposed to forcing 25 man guilds to kick 1/3 of their roster - and they would have picked a number closer to 15 if that wasn't an issue.

I wouldn't mind 15 - it's not too large to make a persons contribution feel insignificant or like several members of the team are strangers, yet not too small to do crazy stuff like 3 tanks, mage tanks or stuff where specific classes are required. But 20? Fucking bastards.

Mythic is now the new heroic difficulty.

Flex is normal mode.

Normal mode is heroic mode (tuned a little bit higher than what we have now)

Mythic is simply HC mode.

I wonder what they will do with lockouts/chances for loot if flex=normal and normal=hcs. Will mythic be on a separate lockout? Or will normal be a separate like flex is now? I like the opportunity flex gives currently with a separate lockout and opportunity to get gear. I'm curious to see how this will all work out.

I'm only guessing here, but I think they will do something like the following:

  • LFR
    Size: 10-25 flexible.
    Lockout: No lockout, you can run it as many times as you want.
    Loot: LFR, one chance + unlimited Bonus rolls per boss per week.
    Prerequisite: Specific ilvl and achievement of any difficulty for the previous wing.
    Access: Automatic matchmaking queue.

  • Normal (former Flexible)
    Size: 10-25 flexible.
    Lockout: No lockout, you can run it as many times as you want. Alive bosses determined from the leader's instance save.
    Loot: Normal, one chance + one Bonus roll per boss per week.
    Prerequisite: None.
    Access: You need to form your own group and travel to the entrance.

  • Heroic (former Normal)
    Size: 10-25 flexible.
    Lockout: No lockout, you can run it as many times as you want. Alive bosses determined from the leader's instance save.
    Loot: Heroic, one chance + one Bonus roll per boss per week.
    Prerequisite: Leader must have the normal achievement of the last wing/boss.
    Access: You need to form your own group and travel to the entrance.

  • Mythic (former Heroic)
    Size: 20 fixed.
    Lockout: Mythic, instance save/id as it is and works today for heroic.
    Loot: Mythic, one chance + one Bonus roll per boss per week.
    Prerequisite: Leader must have the heroic achievement of the last wing/boss.
    Access: You need to form your own group and travel to the entrance.


Please, do not kill 10man progression raiding
